Combining Cyanometalates and Coordination Clusters: An Alternative Synthetic Route toward Original Molecular Materials

2013

International audience; With the discovery of molecules or molecule-based compounds that can display blocked magnetization, magnetic ordering or switchable magnetic bistability, the research efforts devoted to molecular magnetic materials have considerably increased over the past two decades, fully exploiting the advantages of the bottom-up approach. 1-4 This research field focuses on promising properties for potential technological applications such as information storage, quantum computing and spintronics at the molecular scale, but it also provides fundamental insights into original quantum phenomena. 5,6 Coordination chemists have developed efficient synthetic tools for the preparation …

Deposition order controls the first stages of a metal-organic coordination network on an insulator surface

2016

| openaire: EC/FP7/610446/EU//PAMS We report on first stages toward the formation of a surface-confined metal-organic coordination network (MOCN) by sequential deposition of biphenyl-4,4′-dicarboxylic acid and iron atoms on the surface of a bulk insulator, calcite (10.4). The influence of the deposition order on the structure formation is studied by noncontact atomic force microscopy operated in ultrahigh vacuum at room temperature. It is found that sequential deposition facilitates MOCN formation when the organic linker molecules are first adsorbed on the surface, followed by iron deposition. This observation is explained by first-principles computations, indicating that the metal-molecule…

A novel class of interpenetrated 3-D network of a dimeric cupric-tetracarboxylate unit

2002

The hydrothermal reaction of Cu(II), fumaric acid and 4,4′-bipyridine (bpy) in equimolar amounts at 160 °C resulted in a new type of two-fold interpenetrating 3-D coordination network composed of tetracarboxylate dicopper(II) units bridged by bipyridine spacers.

Team Coordination in Basketball: Description of the Cognitive Connections Among Teammates

2010

International audience; This study investigated team coordination in basketball using the course-of-action theoretical framework. The focus was on how the players were connected with their teammates' activities. The activity of five French basketball players (17.60 ± .89 years) was studied during an official match. The data were collected and processed according to a procedure defined for course-of-action analysis. The results were used to characterize the coordination modes among players and the team coordination network that was built. The processes that underlie team coordination are discussed (i.e., mutuality and awareness), and some directions for practical applications are addressed.
